Coalescent Veins

'Coalescent Veins' arose from a plethora of different sound sources, including a motorbike, padding foam being torn, cans hit with metal beads, and field recordings of the area surrounding my house in Sheffield. Although the piece is acousmatic in nature (i.e the identity of the sounds is hidden), this rich range of source material nevertheless allowed me to not only traverse a sound world which ranges from the overbearing to the delicate, but also to explore different impressions of movement and stasis as spaces expand and contract. Clouds of noise-based materials converge and accumulate whilst pitched drones outline softer, more subtle spaces.
