Music is Blind, Vision is Deaf

Jukebox

An audio-visual exploration of cross media syncopation and the paradox of the senses reliance upon one another to be able to exist and perform independently. It is presented in 5 accumulative sensory stages.
Stage 1 - Music is Blind, Vision is Deaf: Demonstrates that sensory perceptions are intrinsically linked even when seemingly separated.
Stage 2 - Cross Media Syncopation. Occurring across the senses, visually and audibly, both senses still continue to provide one another with the power to move forward.
Stage 3 – Implied movement: Illustrating the paradox of frozen movement.
Stage 4 – Movement: The only actual movement in La Jetée. The subtraction of sound somewhat ironically questions the location of diegesis until this point, A meta-diegesis?
Stage 5 – Absolute Sound and Vision in Inertia: An abstract synchresis develops even though the relationship between vision and music is random and as a result syncopated
All imagery from an edit of Chris Markers, La Jetée.
