This new work will concise of two active elements. Firstly, exploring and documenting sounds found in the area around the College. Alongside this we will also look at how people interact with and behave in this environment. What manmade sounds of industry and leisure can be heard? The recordings will then be edited for a soundscape specific to this new performance. Secondly, a small speaker mounted on a mirror will play the sound track and vibrate a thin Laser beam. Using this and a laser mic [a microphone that senses light and translates it into audible sound], along with specifically placed mirrors and smoke machines we can reveal the unheard effects of the sites architecture. The movement of the audience and the building itself then edits and plays with the sounds. Creating a brand new soundtrack that responds to the buildings slight movements and the audiences presence. Here the sound track could act as a feedback to the current uses and occupiers of the college.

Using sculpture, sound recordings and live performance we aim to explore the social and historic aesthetics used to bolster cultural systems throughout society. Examining its adoption or vilification through popular cultural tropes and institutional frameworks.
